When 32BJ outgrew their call center at their Headquarters, they expanded to the second floor of 22 W 19th Street. GKV maintained as much of the existing architecture as possible, including the central meeting rooms and the existing pantry. However, ultimately, the program called for an open space. Due to the nature of the call center, acoustics were very important. We added acoustical panels over the entire open ceiling, and intensified them in the central lounge area, to buffer the noise level for the employees seated nearby. Colorful furnishings and soft textures help to liven the space and provide a warm working environment.
