Park Hyatt Istanbul Maçka Palas Hotel + Spa

Istanbul, Turkey

150,000 square feet

The historic Maçka Palas has been restored to its former grandeur and adapted into a luxury boutique hotel, Park Hyatt Istanbul. Existing historical elements of the hotel are combined with modern architecture, making it a unique space perpetuating Istanbul’s current culture. In addition to restoration work, GKV Architects designed 85 guestrooms, 5 penthouse suites, a luxury spa, exercise facility, an ultra-hip rooftop pool and bar, a steakhouse and a one-of-a-kind bathing experience called wet rooms, which includes a splash tub, a rain shower, a steam shower, a light therapy shower and a Turkish bath. Each treatment room in the spa is designed with custom color-therapy lighting as well as a private shower. Park Hyatt Istanbul Maçka Palas is the recipient of the Gold Key Award for Excellence in Hospitality Design and the Boutique Design Awards for Best Historic Restoration. The project was also published in Interior Design Magazine.
