GKV Architects redesigned the lobby of the headquarters for the New York Foundling, located on the Avenue of the Americas in Manhattan. The non-profit organization was founded as a home for abandoned children and still offers many programs today to aid children and families in need. As the organization's front door, the lobby needed to have a design that was both welcoming and professional. This building serves as the head of operations for the organization. Residing on the top 7 floors are the residential and administrative programs that have been the core of the charity since its creation. With the combination of materials such as stainless steel and walnut paneling, the space is both modern and inviting. New illuminated signage facing the Avenue of the Americas has enhanced the New York Foundling's presence in Chelsea.
