The Opening of Hyperscience Headquarters, Designed by GKV Architects

GKV Architects Completes Hyperscience Office Located in New York City

We are pleased to announce the opening of the new Hyperscience headquarters office designed by Gerner Kronick + Valcarcel, Architects, DPC located on the 88th floor of One World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan, New York City.

Hyperscience is a cutting-edge software development company powered by machine learning, that provides highly accurate intelligent document processing, connecting artificial intelligence with a human-centered approach.

Their new 36,000-square-foot office allows them to do just that in this LEED Gold Certified space. The project scope includes an open reception, pantry and cafeteria, benching workstations, breakout rooms, and small and large conference rooms. The focus was to design a space that encompasses the natural light and cityscape at a unique vantage point high atop the One World Trade Center building, but also wanted to focus on a modern office atmosphere. The GKV design team started by opening the reception area with a selection of low-slung lounge chairs, sofas, and benching stations that maximizes the exposure to natural light along the perimeter curtain wall, accomplishing the client’s vision. The theme continues with GKV designing a large and open pantry and dining space with an adjoining lounge area. The result is an inviting space to help foster creativity and collaboration.

Our design team created a plan to use a restrained palette of graphite, gray and black to allude to the textural mechanics of automation at the core of Hyperscience’s mission. We layered dark metal, wood finishes, and green plantings throughout the space playing off the bright views of the New York Harbor. The monochromatic palette used in the workspace is offset with a pop of pastel-colored furnishings, bringing color and warmth to the design. We incorporated Shou Sugi Ban wood walls to compliment the industrial feel Hyperscience desired.
